Farms & Acreage, Inc. is a full service real estate company which has been serving Northern Virginia for a half century. The company was founded in 1957 by Verlin W. Smith upon his return from military service in World War II. Today the firm offers a customized marketing approach to each client on a per project basis. As the name implies, Farms & Acreage was founded in an era when there was more agricultural and open land than residential, commercial and industrial development in Northern Virginia.

In 1986, Verlin was joined by Guy M. Gravett who purchased the company when Verlin retired in 2004. As the firm’s owner, president and principal broker, Guy continues to operate in the civic minded tradition established by its founder. He takes pride in the unique, customized marketing approach that is offered to each client by the sales team which includes Pete Ebert who joined the company in 2004.
